What to Expect
Initial Consultation
Your journey to creating a timeless portrait begins with an Initial Consultation, where we take the time to get to know you. This is your opportunity to share the photography styles that inspire you and how we can make your session as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. When choosing your portrait style, it’s important to reflect who you are—whether casual and relaxed or more formal and traditional. We want your portrait to be an authentic memory of who you are today.
Visualizing your portrait before the shoot is a key step in capturing the perfect image. Whether you're excited about being in front of the camera or feeling a bit shy, our goal is to make the experience fun and comfortable. We bring creative ideas for unique and captivating portraits and will guide you every step of the way so you can truly express yourself. We promise, it really can be fun!
Feel free to ask any questions upfront. The more you know, the more confident and relaxed you’ll feel during and after your session. If you’re ever in doubt, just ask! For common queries, visit our FAQ section.
Location
During our consultation, we will discuss the ideal location for your session. We’ve photographed throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, and we love discovering new settings. Whether it’s beaches, parks, historic buildings, bustling city streets, or peaceful neighborhoods, nearly any background you can imagine can be found in these areas. We also offer a variety of digital backgrounds to enhance your portrait. Clients are responsible for all photographic permits and or parking costs incurred due to the location choice.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, or any other circumstances arise, we will happily reschedule your session at no extra charge.
What Should I Wear for My Family Photoshoot?
No need to stress! We'll provide plenty of style inspiration during your session consultation. Once you've reserved your session, we’ll also send you our curated outfit idea boards via email to help guide your wardrobe choices.
The Photography Session
On the day of your session, we recommend arriving with your clothing, hair, and makeup ready. If you'd like extra assistance, we can arrange for a professional stylist or makeup artist (available for an additional fee) to help you look your absolute best.
The session length depends on the package you choose. Please refer to our Packages section.
The late afternoon - about an hour before sunset - is often the best time for a photo shoot, as the golden light creates a soft, flattering glow. However, we can shoot at any time of day, and in various weather conditions, whether it's sunshine, overcast skies, or even a nighttime session.
Feel free to bring any personal items that reflect your personality or help set the mood of your portrait. Whether it’s a special piece of jewelry, a favorite book, or even something that connects to your hobbies or passions, these elements can make your session feel more authentic and meaningful.
The session fee is due on the day of the shoot, and all prices include 9% CA sales tax.
After the Shoot
After your session, we carefully hand-edit each photo to perfection. Digital editing and the creation of your final images take approximately 2-4 weeks. You will receive high-resolution digital files via digital download through Dropbox.
Please note that we retain the copyright to all images and reserve the right to use them for promotional purposes, competitions, or professional review.
